It's the 80ies blog recalling all the most beautiful things from the golden years of 1980s. Or something less.

Scanners (1981)

Oh my that the 80s were golden days for both Carpenter and Croenenberg. They don't make movies like these any more. Whatever you want to say, this movie is A-list, not a B-list. One telltale is the really excellent special effects (just look at the final scene where the main characters' veins are bloating, lively).

And here is a totally unrelated overlynerdish tech-link for real life scanning of things:

Mr. T

The Man.

Mr.T became famous after fighting Rocky in Rocky III. In that movie he said for the first time what has now become his immortal catchphrase: I pity the fool.
Many remember him from the television series The A-Team (1983-1987).
Recently Mr. T has appeared in Snickers ads and some not-so-good movies.

I pity the fool who doesn't hire him in a good movie or TV-show!

Greatest Aliens Of the 80's

He crashed into the Tannen's garage and into our TV's in 1986. This pizza-loving cat-eating fuzzy Alien Life Form (geddit?) is one of my favourites. I still have my Alf toy somewhere.

#3 80's Cartoon Intro Overload! Part 3.
#4 80's Cartoon Intro Overload! Part 4.

- Who makes these, they'll never stop.. still more!
#5 80's Cartoon Intro Overload! Part 5.
- Somebody is more freak than me over 80s cartoons... seriously...
#6 80's Cartoon Intro Overload! Part 6.

- Still more!! (Chuck Norris will tear your eyes out if you make any
references to this cartoon)
#7 80's Cartoon Intro Overload! Part 7.
- Okey, maybe we did ask for it.

And I just found a very very very excellent site..
>> Be sure to check out RetroJunk's webpages !! <<

*must get more He-man..* Seriously, which other cartoon (or any series for that matter) has as addictive and brilliant intro as in He-Man...

Now did they make psychedelic cartoons in the 80s or what?
I am eternally bitter that I never got a He-Man figure.
Instead, I got this cheaply-imitated version figure.
When I'm superrich I'm gonna collect the whole He-Man set.
Yes. I rest my case here.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (-87)

No crappy movements, cheap sharp corners but the real thing!

Darn that Technodrome was scary:

And do you remember this? *sight*:

Last, but not least, the original theme song:
>> TMNT theme !! (the real thing)
