It's the 80ies blog recalling all the most beautiful things from the golden years of 1980s. Or something less.

Scanners (1981)

Oh my that the 80s were golden days for both Carpenter and Croenenberg. They don't make movies like these any more. Whatever you want to say, this movie is A-list, not a B-list. One telltale is the really excellent special effects (just look at the final scene where the main characters' veins are bloating, lively).

And here is a totally unrelated overlynerdish tech-link for real life scanning of things:

Mr. T

The Man.

Mr.T became famous after fighting Rocky in Rocky III. In that movie he said for the first time what has now become his immortal catchphrase: I pity the fool.
Many remember him from the television series The A-Team (1983-1987).
Recently Mr. T has appeared in Snickers ads and some not-so-good movies.

I pity the fool who doesn't hire him in a good movie or TV-show!

Greatest Aliens Of the 80's

He crashed into the Tannen's garage and into our TV's in 1986. This pizza-loving cat-eating fuzzy Alien Life Form (geddit?) is one of my favourites. I still have my Alf toy somewhere.
